Dr. Daniel Coupland (Associate Professor and Chairman of the Education Department at Hillsdale College) will discuss the essential features of sound pedagogy and contrast these practices with much more modern notions of teaching popularized by the Education Establishment today. He will review what is required of the teacher, the student, and the lesson itself in order for true and lasting education to occur. He will also provide insight on how today's educators can recapture in their own classrooms time-tested principles of good teaching that will ultimately lead to the cultivation of both wisdom and virtue.
