We are so very pleased to welcome Mrs. Sheila Titcombe to our ministry team. Mrs. Titcombe is teaching English. She and her husband David have three grown children: Molly (Matt), Adam, and Colin. They have two grandchildren: Jonah and Lucy. Sheila’s journey in education began as she was hired by her eventual mentor and now friend, Debby Hoepfner, to be a reader/grader at L’Anse Creuse High School North. She student taught there before heading to Cardinal Mooney High School. It was a wonderful experience to be part of the CMC family. Mrs. Titcombe was then offered an opportunity to teach at Lake Shore High School. She cherishes the years she spent there! Now she finds herself back to her parochial roots. Sheila feels at home again. She feels blessed to be part of the Lutheran High North family.

What’s your role at Lutheran North?
English Teacher
Where are you from?
Sterling Heights, Michigan
When did you know that you wanted to be in the Lutheran high school environment and what led you to pursue that path?
My oldest daughter attended Lutheran High North - she's a 2009 grad. We loved the school and community instantly. (It reminded me much of Bishop Foley in the years I attended.) We cherished that LHN focused on the WHOLE student: mind, heart, and soul.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
"Let all you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14
What are three words to best describe you?
Curious, interested, and positive
What was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
During high school and college, I waited tables at several establishments. It taught me much about life. Today and for the next fifty years, when I go out to eat, I pre-bus the table and leave a generous tip.
Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
I have a knack for remembering utterly irrelevant information from years ago - typically conversations. People are so interesting!
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
I'd love to teleport myself - there's so much to do in this life!
What’s your favorite food?
Pizza is great.
What’s your least favorite food?
I'm not a huge broccoli fan.
What’s your favorite place that you’ve traveled and why?
I was able to go to County Cork, Ireland with my husband, dad, siblings and in-laws a few years back. My grandfather was born and raised in Drinagh. We spent time with cousins and visited his family homestead. It was amazing.
Where would you like to travel next and why?
We are planning a family trip to Yellowstone later this year. I am so excited.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
My closest friends and family know that I love nothing more than laughing and making others laugh too.
What’s one hobby you’d like to get into?
This Pickle Ball sensation first puzzled me - now I am intrigued (and maybe the last person to try it).
What’s your favorite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
I enjoy watching college football and basketball. However - Let's go Lions!
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Early bird.
Are you a dog person or a cat person (neither or both)?
Dog person.
What’s one of your favorite memories from the past year?
My granddaughter Lucia Eileen was born in November. Spending time with her and her big brother Jonah - and all of my family are precious moments.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My Grandma Clancy was a fountain of amazing advice. She was the mother of nine children and revealed what she learned along the journey. She said, "Never be the parent to say 'My child would never....' They will prove you wrong every time you say it." My three children are adults - I would think of her words often over the years. Haha.
Is there any advice you’d offer to current and future Lutheran North students?
These four years go fast. Have an open heart to others. Ask others to join you for lunch, to go to the game, to catch a movie. Have an open mind. Listen to others' perspectives and ideas. Have an open heart. Be compassionate to others - have empathy. You don't know what someone might be going through.
