A Celebration of God-Given Talents: Lutheran North’s Annual Spring Showcase
Our campus was filled with creativity, talent, and celebration this past Sunday as we hosted our annual Spring Showcase. The event highlighted the incredible work of our art students while also featuring a wonderful concert performance by our Concert Choir and Band, giving families, friends, and community members the opportunity to experience the many talents God has blessed our students with.
From detailed drawings and paintings to impressive 3D creations, the showcase transformed our space into a gallery filled with inspiration and artistic expression. Throughout the afternoon, guests were also treated to beautiful musical performances from our Concert Choir and Band, whose hard work and dedication were on full display. Their performances added another special dimension to the event and served as a reminder of the incredible artistic and musical gifts within our Lutheran North community.
This year’s showcase featured:
Over 180 students represented
Work from 7 different art courses
More than 50 different art assignments across both 2D and 3D mediums
Well over 300 individual pieces displayed
18 Advanced Art senior displays showcasing work from all four years of their high school art journey
One of the highlights of the evening was seeing our senior displays. Each senior collection reflected not only artistic growth, but also the dedication, perseverance, and passion our students have developed during their time in the art program. It was a special opportunity to celebrate how far they have come and the unique artistic voice each student has developed.
Behind the scenes, the showcase itself was truly a labor of love. It took:
Two dedicated people
Over 16 hours to set up and hang all of the artwork
3 hours to carefully take everything down
About 5 pounds of sticky tack
And one full roll of masking tape
What an amazing reminder of the gifts God has given each of our students and the beauty that can be created when those gifts are nurtured, developed, and shared with others.
