Dear Lutheran North Families,

Welcome Back!

We hope and pray that summer has provided your family with a much-needed opportunity to relax and spend some time away from the business of the school year. We love summer too! It gives our staff a chance to recharge and provides our school building with an opportunity to receive some much-needed upgrades.

But as wonderful as summer is, our faculty and staff cannot wait to see our students back in the building. Our students are the lifeblood of the school. We cannot wait to see them back on campus bringing energy and joy to the hallways and classrooms of Lutheran North.

Our theme for the 2026-2027 school year is “Bread of Life,” which is based on John 6:35. Our hope and prayer is that every day, your child is challenged in the classroom, pushed in extracurriculars and pointed toward the gospel message of Jesus Christ, the true Bread of Life.

We hope this newsletter, “The Mustang Minute,” helps answer any questions you may have, and put your minds at ease as we embark on another academic year.

Freshman First Day at Lutheran North

Freshman First Day is Wednesday, August 19, beginning at 7:55 AM! Freshmen should head straight to the gym for chapel as we kick off an exciting new school year together. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 PM after a fun-filled morning that includes a hot dog lunch 🌭 and a Club Fair where you can discover new interests, meet people, and find your place to plug in at Lutheran North! 🖤💛🐴

Then, on Thursday, August 20, we welcome all students in grades 10–12 for a full day of school! All students should report to the gym for chapel at 7:55 AM as we officially kick off the 2026–27 school year together. We can’t wait to have all of our Mustangs back on campus! 🐴🖤💛

SPIRITWEAR HAS ARRIVED

Spiritwear has arrived! If you placed a summer order (not athletic team-specific), your gear is ready for pickup! Stop by the school office anytime between 9:00 AM–3:00 PM (M-F), and we’ll be happy to help get your spiritwear to you. Go Mustangs! 🐴🖤💛

NEW STUDENT ENTRANCE PROCEDURES

Beginning this school year Lutheran North will have a limited number of entrances available before the start of school. Students will be allowed to enter the building using doors 0, 2, 4, 12 or 13. This change helps us secure the building more quickly once the school day begins, while still providing convenient access for students arriving from different sides of campus.

SCHOOL MESSENGER

The Lutheran High Schools are pleased to share that our schools are using SchoolMessenger, a trusted communication platform, to send timely and important updates directly to your cell phone via text message. This system will help ensure that you stay informed about school-related information, school events, emergency notifications, and weather-related closures.

What is SchoolMessenger?

SchoolMessenger is a widely used notification service designed specifically for educational institutions. It enables schools to communicate quickly and securely with families using SMS (text messaging), voice calls, and email. The platform is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, which means your personal information is protected and will never be shared or sold.

To OPT-IN

To begin receiving text messages from Lutheran North, simply send a text message with the word "Y" or "Yes" to the number 67587 from your mobile device. Once you opt-in, you will begin receiving messages as they are sent. If at any time you wish to stop receiving texts, you can reply to any message with "Stop".
