Mustang Minute - August 28, 2026
Lutheran North Families,
Our first full week of school is in the books! Although five consecutive days seemed daunting, the staff, faculty and students made it through. The energy on campus continues to rise each day as our students get settled in.
This week was highlighted by our chapel speakers who focused their messages on our schoolwide recitation, hymn 636, asking students to “Rise, Watch and Pray.” Our speakers also continued to harp on our school theme, reminding students that Jesus Christ is the true “Bread of Life.”
Extracurricular activities are in full swing. Our athletic teams began a new chapter as members of the BWAC (Bluewater Area Conference). We are excited for the new opportunities a new conference will bring, and we could not be more excited to watch our Mustangs compete to the best of their ability this fall, glorifying God with the gifts each one of them has been given.
We ask for your continued prayers as we partner with you in ministry. It is such a joy and blessing to watch the students walk into our building each morning. Our staff and faculty understand the calling we have to minister to these children each day and are so grateful for each student who walks through our halls.
We hope you enjoy this week’s version of the “Mustang Minute” and ask that you reach out to us with any questions you may have.

FIRST ROBOTICS
Our students have the opportunity to participate with I.AM.Robot of Macomb, a local robotics program open to Lutheran North students. Lutheran North does not have a robotics team of its own, but I.AM.Robot has graciously opened their program up to our students. If your student is interested in exploring this exciting opportunity, please check out the image for more information and plan to attend the Open House on September 15th!
IMPORTANT DISMISSAL PICK-UP PROCEDURES
This communication is intended to help make our parking lot dismissal as safe and smooth as possible. Here are some hints to help:
You are not required to pick up your student at the exact dismissal time. Consider arriving 20 minutes after the bell - traffic will be lighter.
You must enter the parking lot through the East entrance and exit through the Garfield exit or the 24 Mile Rd. West exit.
At dismissal time, park in any open space to wait for your student.
The lane on the West side of our building between doors 3-4 is reserved for Utica bussing in the afternoon.
Create waiting lines along the East side of the building and also along the sidewalk in front of the school. (see diagram linked above).
Please be advised that parking/waiting in front of our mailbox and in the designated crosswalks is prohibited.
SCHOOL MESSENGER NEW FEATURE - SCHOOL MESSENGER
The Lutheran High Schools are pleased to share that our schools are using SchoolMessenger, a trusted communication platform, to send timely and important updates directly to your cell phone via text message. This system will help ensure that you stay informed about school-related information, school events, emergency notifications, and weather-related closures.
What is SchoolMessenger?
SchoolMessenger is a widely used notification service designed specifically for educational institutions. It enables schools to communicate quickly and securely with families using SMS (text messaging), voice calls, and email. The platform is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, which means your personal information is protected and will never be shared or sold.
To OPT-IN
To begin receiving text messages from Lutheran North, simply send a text message with the word "Y" or "Yes" to the number 67587 from your mobile device. Once you opt-in, you will begin receiving messages as they are sent. If at any time you wish to stop receiving texts, you can reply to any message with "Stop".
We encourage all parents and guardians to Opt-In so you can stay connected and informed
